Build Personas

Design starts by gaining a deep understanding of people.

Chapter Focus: to create a Persona Mat of a young person with 3 to 6 needs identified.

With the activities in this chapter, you’ll dig into real learning that is taking place across Canada to better understand our young people. The activities help you create personas that better represent the young people your organization interacts with. By practicing empathy, you’ll uncover insights into the lives of young people in Canada. These activities are a fun way to deepen that understanding and make sense of the needs and experiences of young people to help your group design meaningful solutions.

Once you've become familiar with how to run the basic workshop, you can check out the Additional Activities and Tips section for more information about personas, new tools to try, and advice on doing your own design research to customize your toolkit.
